Start With the Person
Turn a fictional person’s stated aim, preferences, communication, context, and support needs into clear criteria before generating anything.
Analyze the Activity
Examine activity demands, access barriers, environmental fit, and support options before asking AI to propose adaptations.
Prototype and Test
Build one accessible visual, handout, HTML tool, Markdown resource, or other prototype; then revise it with person feedback and practitioner review.
About the Course
An attractive artifact is not automatically a person-centered plan. This self-paced course helps recreational therapists and community-based support professionals use AI to explore options, analyze activity demands, and prototype accessible resources while keeping the person’s aim and feedback central. Learners use the fictional Lena photo-walk case, embedded practice, and the Person–Purpose–Prototype Lab. The course covers option generation, activity analysis, accessible formats, HTML and Markdown artifacts, connector-aware workflows, and testing. AI supports the work; it does not replace the person’s voice, practitioner expertise, or real-world follow-through. All lessons in the curriculum are included with free enrollment; no purchase is required.

Course Details and Boundaries
Use these boundaries to keep the course person-centered, accessible, and grounded in real-world use.
Online and self-paced. Includes six narrated lessons, embedded activities, a final knowledge check, one optional discussion, and an optional course evaluation.
All practice stays inside the course.
Use fictional, de-identified, or otherwise approved information. Protected health information and sensitive client information do not belong in an unapproved AI workspace.
Practice with safer material.
The artifact supports the person’s plan; it does not become the plan. The person can accept, reject, change, pause, or redirect the work at each meaningful decision point.
Keep authority visible.
Check readability, accessibility, environmental fit, source accuracy, and real-world usefulness with the person and appropriate human reviewers.
Test before relying on it.
Build a Resource Around the Person
Use this course to define one person-centered aim, analyze the activity, and produce a practical prototype that improves through feedback.
