Course overview

Accountability follows the document from source to signature.

About this course

Examine what you are responsible for when AI helps draft a session note, summary, or support plan. Practice tracing statements to evidence, protecting private information, preserving the person’s voice, and deciding whether to revise, route, or sign the work.

For recreational therapists, behavior consultants, and other practitioners supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community settings. Apply the Human Accountability Check to fictional documentation and planning decisions.

What you will learn

  • Identify authorization, privacy, competence, bias, and authorship risks in common AI-assisted practice tasks.
  • Apply a human verification process to AI-generated documentation, summaries, plans, and learner-facing materials.
  • Decide when to revise, disclose, route, or stop AI use while retaining professional accountability.
